We build our shade structures using high-quality materials that can handle the damp environment of the Pacific Northwest. Western Red Cedar is our most popular choice because it remains straight and resists decay. We use heavy-duty 6×6 posts and thick 2×8 or 2×10 rafters to ensure the structure feels substantial and secure. For a more modern look, we can also incorporate metal brackets or even use aluminum components that offer zero-maintenance longevity.
